Tournament Ethics

To encourage the sport of gamefishing in a spirit of true sportsmanship in an atmosphere of fun and good camaraderie.

To encourage the eithic of tag and release fishing for sustainable use of the fisheries.

Fishing Times & Radio Schedules

Thursday 23rd September Nominations 4.00 - 6.00pm
Thursday 23rd September Briefing 7.00pm
Friday 24th September Sailpast 7.00am
    Fishing 8.30am - 5.00pm
Saturday 25th September Fishing 8.00am - 5.00pm
Sunday 26th September Fishing 7.30am - 4.00pm
Sunday 26th September Presentations 7.00pm - onwards

All boats must acknowledge radio schedule calls supplying their score since the last schedule position as per the map grid reference.

Schedule call will be at: 10.05am, 12.05pm, 2.05pm, 3.45pm, 4.45pm. each day

A ten minute warning of 'cease fishing' will be give at the end of each day. Current hook-ups must be reported within this period.

Tournament Rules

  1. GFAA rules apply to practice, however there are specific additions to cater for the unique format of this tournament.
  2. this is a single line class only tournament - 10kg.
  3. Participants must belong to a gamefishing club or sportfishing club affiliated with the Gamefishing Association of Australia.
  4. Teams shall consist of no fewer than two (2) or more than four (4) anglers.
  5. Prizes are awarded to boats greater than and smaller than 7.5m.
  6. The tournament committe reserves the right to amend the tropy list without notification.

Tournament Scoring

Billfish tagged - 1000 points
Gamefish - 10 points/kilogram
No sharks

  • All weighed fish must be at least line class to qualify
  • All gamefish presented at weigh-in must be gilled and gutted and in an edible condition
  • Mutilated fish (caused by sharks, propellers, etc) will not qualify
  • Daily score cards must be completed. Fish not entered on the card correctly will be ineligible to score
  • In the event of a tie, the team achieving the wining score first shall be the winner
